Silver Tea Dazzles Once Again
Wednesday, December 15, 2010 • Posted December 14, 2010

The annual Blanco Woman’s Club Silver Tea was held on Wednesday, December 8, at Diane Turner’s lovely new home on River Bend Drive. There were 27 members present as well as two associate members, Louise Koch and Maryella Vause, and two guests, Carol Davidson and Rachelle Willgren. Guests were greeted at the door by hostesses Kathee Copeland and Candy Cargill Wenzel. Other hostesses included Diane Turner, Charlene Pace, and Bonnie Holmes. All of the guests enjoyed refreshments, which consistedof a variety of finger sandwiches, gingerbread-shaped cheese balls with chips, a variety of Christmas cupcakes and candies, coffee and chocolate punch and coffee. The serving table was adorned with deer, red tapered candles, and Christmas greenery. Diane’s home was beautifully decorated with a huge tree in the family room, a variety of nativity scenes, Diane’s collection of Santas , and much more. A game that involved exchanging Christmas ornaments resulted in lots of mirth and hilarity, and I am so sorry I had to miss it. From what I heard, a good time was had by all! The main purpose of the annual Silver Tea is for members to give their donations to support the operation and maintenance of the Blanco Library. This is a tradition the members honor each December.
