Lady Panthers Roll Over Randolph

The Lady Panthers blasted the Randolph Ro-Hawks 55-22 on Tuesday, December 7. Lindsey Jenkins scorched the hoops with 16 points, followed closely by Micaela Klein with 13 points. Abbey Weaver and Leslie McClinton scored 8 points each. Felicia Skillman and Elise Edmondson each added 4 with Susannah Campbell making 2.

On Thursday, December 9, the ladies traveled to Canyon Lake to play in the Canyon Lake High School Tournament. In the first round, the Panthers blasted the Somerset Bulldogs 52-39. Kayla Martinez was high-point scorer with 13. Justine Cooley sank 12 points and Abbey Weaver added 10. In the next round, Blanco fell to the Industrial Vanderbuilt Cobras, 44-54. Industrial was the eventual tournament champion. Jenkins led the Panthers with 13 points, while Klein and Weaver each added 8.

On Saturday, the team downed the Luling Eagles, 52-37. Klein ripped the nets for 16 points. Skillman tossed in 12, while Jenkins and Weaver each added 9. In the last round of the tournament, the Blanco team played a re-match against the Johnson City Lady Eagles. Previously, the Panthers lost to the Eagles in the Johnson City Tournament. In this game, the deficit was the same but the result was reversed. The Panthers won 44-41, giving them a second place finish. Weaver pumped in 12 points, with Jenkins adding 9 and Martinez scoring another 8 points. Lindsey Jenkins and Abbey Weaver received All-Tournament honors.

On Monday, December 13, the Lady Panther Junior Varsity rallied for a 37-30 win over the Wimberley Texan freshmen. Maria Avila scored 13 points to lead the team. Ashlea Harvey added 10 points and Natalie Stahmann made 5. Taylor Guinn, Megan Wier, and Autumn Collins each made 4 points.

The Panther Varsity team outscored the Wimberley junior varsity by 23 points, posting a 66-23 win. Micaela Klein and Felicia Skillman fired in 14 points each. Meaghen Seales sank 12 points and Justine Cooley added 9. Kayla Martinez scored 7 and Abbey Weaver made 6. Lindsey Jenkins contributed 4 points.

The Lady Panthers are scheduled to battle the Johnson City Eagles again on Friday, December 17.
