Wednesday, December 29, 2010 • Posted December 28, 2010

Dixie Lee Hallenberger, 62, passed peacefully from this life Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at his home in Federal Way, Washington surrounded by family and friends. Dixie was born on October 2, 1948 in Blanco, Texas to Marvin Dixie and Dorris Massey Hallenberger, who preceeded him in death.

After graduation from Blanco High School in 1967, Dixie attended Southwest Texas State University and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Dixie was an eight year veteran, serving as a reservist and active duty sailor. At his passing, Dixie was employed as a civil engineer for the city of Seatac, Washington.

Dixie's care and compassion for family and friends, and joy for living will leave a void in the hearts of loved ones and friends left behind.

Dixie is survived by his wife, Jana Johnson Hallenberger of Federal Way, WA; a brother, Raymond Jay Hallenberger, and three sisters, Elizabeth Faye Gode, Marshe Jean Hallenberger, and Virginia Ann Henderson, and their families in Texas; and children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Texas and Washington.

Memorial services for Dixie are planned for the spring, his favorite time of the year. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to your favorite charity in Dixie's name.
