One holiday down and one to go, and then we start the business of regular living all over again!
Our thoughts go out to Senor and the rest of the extended Rust family. I only met Mr. CA once, but the stories he told in just that brief meeting at the library were certainly entertaining, rating right up there with Pearlie Greebon’s. He will be sorely missed by lots of people.
Two birthdays of note - On December 29, Ruth Phillips, Sally Wall’s mother, will be 91. On January 1, 2011, Charles Neal, Crystal Spybuck’s grandpa (Crystal being the librarian at our wonderful library) will be 90. Two nonagenarians to celebrate! In the youth category, Ralph de Leon will also have a birthday on 01/01/2011 - it’s up to him to tell you how old he is, but Mr. Roll, happy birthday to you, with a lot more music waiting on down the road!
On Sunday, Marilyn, Lawrence, and Nan Mikes went to Rowlett to visit Lawrence’s brother and his wife, Raymond and Luella Mikes. This was their first visit since his brother moved last year. Ray’s daughter, Jody Hammand, and her family, Greg, Matt and Derek, from Garland came to visit as well.
Happy New Year to all of you - and hopefully this will be a better one for most all of us! See you in 2011, when a good time will be had by all, somewhere, sometime!
