PEC Requesting Member Feedback on Issues
Wednesday, January 5, 2011 • Posted January 4, 2011

Pedernales Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors is inviting members to review and comment on the strategic issues the Board has identified. PEC posted this document January 3 on its website, www.pec.coop, which lists the issues under consideration.

The document includes proposed directives for PEC’s future business objectives. “The decisions we made when we considered the issues were made specifically with the future of the Cooperative in mind,” said PEC Board President Larry Landaker. “We really want to hear how our members feel about the direction we’re proposing for their Cooperative. We want to know whether the issues we’re proposing align with what the members want and what is important to them. After member comments have been received and compiled, we will make assessments before finalizing our overall plan.”

PEC is requesting that all members share their ideas and comments about these strategic issues by e-mailing strategicissuesfeedback@peci.com. All comments must include the member’s name and PEC account number, and they must be received by January 14. This will give the Board time to review feedback before considering revisions to the strategic issues list.

The strategic issues listed in the document posted online incorporate elements of a list of categories the Board evaluated in its strategic planning session in October 2010, including rates, power supply and member services. The planning session was conducted with the help of a third-party facilitator and included input from members.

“We want to make sure our strategic plan is based on what is best for members and establishes a clear outline for the future of their Cooperative,” said PEC Acting Chief Executive Officer Luis A. Garcia. “We’re eager to hear what members think about the issues we’re considering.”

Members may mail their suggestions or comments to: Pedernales Electric Cooperative, Inc., Strategic Issues Feedback, P.O. Box 1, Johnson City, Texas 78636-0001. Letters should be postmarked no later than January 14. Members also may also bring their written comments to any PEC office no later than 5 p.m. on January 14.
