Democratic Women to Host Educational Expert on Legislation Concerning Texas Public Schools and Teach
Wednesday, January 12, 2011 • Posted January 11, 2011

The January 13 meeting of the Kendall County Area Democratic Women (KCADW) will feature Ken Hanson, President of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA), District XX, and Vice-Chairman of the TRTA District Presidents’ Council. The meeting starts at 10:00 a.m. and will be held at Kronkosky Place, 17 Old San Antonio Road, in Boerne.

Ken Hanson will be providing information on any introduced bills the legislature will be considering for Texas public schools and teacher retirement. After teaching and serving as principal for more than 30 years in San Antonio, he is now retired and living in Hondo, Texas. Ken closely follows the bill activity and important legislation in every legislative session. He promotes and advocates strong, organized communication with representatives and senators in both the state and national Congress in every presentation he makes.

Mr. Hanson is still involved with area school districts, and can be found almost every Friday night during football season at the Alamodome or other local football game stadiums as the play-by-play announcer. He currently is involved in the planning and preparation for the TRTA State Convention in April, 2011 being held in San Antonio.

The program is open to everyone without regard to political affiliation. KCADW holds monthly meetings in the Boerne area on the second Thursday of every month. Contact Gloria H. Davila, Ed.D, at 210-287-8206 for further information, or go online to www.kcadw.com.
