Lady Panthers Pounce Ingram for District Win

The Lady Panthers are off to a great start in the District 8-AA race with a 67-37 victory over the Ingram Lady Warriors.

Plagued with early foul trouble, the Panthers led only 33-24 at half-time. Finding their rhythm in the second half, the girls expanded their 9-point lead to a 30-point lead as the game ended. Micaela Klein led the Blanco team, scoring 21 points. Justine Cooley sank 14 points, with Kayla Martinez adding 11, Abbey Weaver, 9, and Lindsey Jenkins and Elise Edmonson each adding 6.

The JV girls also captured a district win over Ingram, 32-29. Ashlea Harvey led the team with 10 points, followed closely by Autumn Collins with 9, and Maria Avila, 8.

The Lady Panthers play two district opponents this week, the Junction Eagles on January 11 and the Comfort Deer on Friday, January 14.
