Lady Panthers 3-0 In District Standings

The Lady Panthers handed the Junction Lady Eagles a district loss Tuesday, January 11. Leading 27-17 at halftime, the Panthers doubled their 10-point lead to a 20-point lead at the final buzzer, winning 60-40. Micaela Klein blistered the nets with 19 points to lead the Panthers. Kayla Martinez fought hard for 12 points from the post position. Justine Cooley scored 9 points, with Lindsey Jenkins and Felicia Skillman adding 6 each. Meaghen Seales made 5 points and Abbey Weaver scored 3.

On Friday, January 14, the Comfort Deer became the next Blanco victim, falling to the Panthers 48-36. Klein again led the Panthers with 16 points while Cooley added 9. Weaver dropped in 8 with Martinez shooting 7. Leslie McClinton scored 6 points and Jenkins added 2.

The Lady Panthers now hold a 14-4 season record and a 3-0 district record. On Tuesday, January 18, after press time, the Panthers face the Harper Lady Horns in a battle for the lead in District 8-AA. Friday, January 21, the team rests with an open date followed by a road trip to Junction on January 25.
