Lela Mae Wagner Kruckemeyer

Lela Mae “Jake” Wagner Kruckemeyer, 91, resident of Live Oak Medical Center in Blanco, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011. She was born on May 14, 1919 in Blanco, Texas to Solomon James Wagner and Ethel Mae Brooks Wagner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Kruckemeyer, and son, Leroy Kruckemeyer, her parents, Solomon and Ethel Wagner, brother, A.J. “Farmer” Wagner, sisters, Bertha Wagner Page and Gracie V. Wagner Flugrath.

Her greatest love was her family, her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the many family members and friends she leaves behind. She was very active in the events of the nursing home. She loved the church services, bingo, and listening to country music. When her husband was still alive, they loved going to country dances, camping and fishing, fish frys, and barbecues. They lived in many places during their married life, but returned to their roots in Blanco in 1985 and remained here.

She is survived by a daughter, Leola Mae Gourley and husband, Dean Gourley, grandsons, David Gourley and Becky of San Marcos and Nolan Kruckemeyer and Cindy of Kingsbury, granddaughter, Cynthia Mae Gourley Martin and Collins of Boerne, great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Kruckemeyer of Abilene, and Jessica Kruckemeyer of Austin, Payden Price and Spencer Gourley of San Marcos, Dustin Bray of New Braunfels, and Laura Price of Boerne, brothers Raymond Wagner of Bulverde and R.V. Wagner of Corpus Christi, sisters Cornelia “Tucker” Lindeman and Yvonne Triesch of Blanco, Helen Knoll of Spring Branch, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco from 5 to 7 on Tuesday, January 25. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, January 26 at 10 a.m. at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco, with Rev. Bobby Leggett officiating. Burial was at the Blanco Cemetery in Blanco.

Serving as pallbearers were her grandchildren, David Gourley, Nolan Kruckemeyer, and Cindy Martin, her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jessica Kruckemeyer, Dustin Bray, Spencer Gourley, Payden and Laura Price.
