It All Comes Back to You With Texas Recycles Day!
Wednesday, November 7, 2007 • Posted November 6, 2007

Texas Recycles Day (TRD), which takes place annually on November 15, aims to raise public awareness of the economic and environmental benefits of recycling. The theme for this year’s Texas Recycles Day is “It All Comes Back to You.”

The Recycling Alliance of Texas is motivating Texans to make recycling part of their everyday lives. By practicing the 4R’s- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, & Rebuy, it not only decreases the amount of garbage thrown away each year, but it also conserves natural resources, saves energy, and reduces the amount of landfill space used each year.

Local TRD events are taking place statewide from mid October through mid November. Events range from providing educational materials to hosting a collection for recyclables and making sure they get reused or sent to the appropriate recycling center. Any individual, civic group, youth organization, or company can participate. TRD is being held in conjunction with the national America Recycles Day. The statewide program is supported by IESI and Keep Texas Beautiful.

Help us teach Texans to make recycling part of their everyday lives! Visit www.texasrecylcesday.org for more information on TRD, to see if an event is taking place in your community, and to register your own event!

For more information about the local recycling program, which maintains a center on Jones Ave. in Blanco, call Blanco County Recycling Coordinator Paul Granberg at 830-833-1077.
