7th Graders Edge the Ingram Warriors
Wednesday, January 26, 2011 • Posted January 25, 2011

The 7th Grade Panthers A-Team claimed their first, and well earned, victory last Thursday. The Panthers battled hard during every period and made every opportunity count.

The Panthers trailed during most of the game (down by as much as 8 points at one time… maybe more). With a little more than a minute left in the game, the Panthers went ahead for the first time 28 – 26; however, Blanco lost their short-lived lead when the Warriors came back with a 3-pointer, putting them out front 28-29. Now with only 40 plus seconds remaining, Trent Dechert drove in with a lay-up to put Blanco back on top 30 – 29. The Warriors were unable to answer and, with less than 10 seconds left, Jordan Wagner found his way down the court and sealed the win with an 8-foot jump shot, putting the Panthers out front 32-29 as the game ended.

Players contributing the most points included Trent Dechert, Jordan Wagner, and Dustin Parmely. Other scorers included Hugo Rodriguez, Ross Edwards… and others. Other team players included James Rodriguez, Jessie Ferrell, Ryan Ronces, and Jamal Boskind.
