“Old West Casino Night” Almost Here
This is an event you won’t want to miss!
Wednesday, February 2, 2011 • Posted February 1, 2011

In case you haven’t heard, the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce is hosting an Old West Casino Night at the Blanco County Show Barn on Thursday, February 10 at 6 p.m. This will prove to be a fabulous evening of unique western dress, delicious food, recognition, socializing, a silent auction and gambling fun! This is the annual chamber banquet – casino style. It is open to the public, not just chamber members. Tickets have already been purchased by folks all the way from Austin.

Now, if you’ve never been to a casino-style party, here’s what you can expect. At the door, all players will be given one purple chip worth 20,000 points, which you can exchange at the game table for smaller denominations when you’re ready to play. You will have your choice of playing on professional gaming tables, including Black Jack, Texas Hold’em Poker, Craps or Roulette. The tables will be staffed by experienced, professionally dressed, and helpful dealers. All the excitement of a casino, without losing any money. Folks, it just doesn’t get any better than this! At the end of the evening, you can turn in your chips and receive a raffle ticket for every 5,000 points for a chance to win prizes. The more points you have, the more chances you have to win.

In addition to all the excitement, don’t forget to put on your favorite western outfit – new west or old west, it’s up to you. Be prepared to see cowboys, cowgirls, old west gamblers, saloon gals, rodeo queens and more. It’s all about having fun.

There is a fantastic assortment of items available for bid at the silent auction, including a gift basket from Garrison Brothers Distillery which includes, yes, a bottle of the best bourbon in Texas, which has sold out of liquor stores and is not currently available for purchase, gift certificates from Uptown Blanco Restaurant, and many other wonderful items. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. to allow you to preview and begin bidding on the silent auction items. The awards ceremony will take place during dinner, and at sometime during this period the silent auction will end and the winning bidders will be announced shortly after. You’ll want to be there to bid!

Don’t miss your opportunity to attend this event. Tickets are selling quickly and once the maximum capacity is met, tickets will no longer be available. In the past, tickets were available at the door; however, this year that may not be the case. If available, the quantity will be extremely limited and priced at $30 each. Instead of taking a chance on being turned away from the most exciting event in Blanco County, call the Johnson City Chamber office at 830-868-7684 and order your tickets today or, if you prefer, drop by the Visitor Center and purchase your tickets in person. Tickets are $25 per person. The chamber accepts credit cards and, for your convenience, we’ll mail the tickets to you. Hope to see you all at this incredible event!
