Lady Panthers Post Strong District Wins

The Blanco Lady Panthers improved their district record to 5-1 with strong wins against the Junction Lady Eagles and Ingram Lady Warriors. On Tuesday, January 25, the Panthers dropped the Eagles 54-30. Justine Cooley led the team, ripping the nets for 13 points. Kayla Martinez scored 9, with Meaghen Seales adding 8. Leslie McClinton tallied 7 and Micaela Klein made 6 points. Felicia Skillman shot 4 points and Abbey Weaver scored 3. Lindsey Jenkins and Elise Edmondson each scored 2.

On Friday, January 28, the Panthers pounded the Warriors 60-32. Jenkins and Klein scorched the hoops with 15 points each. Martinez scored 10 points, with Susannah Campbell adding 7. McClinton sank 6 points, while Skillman, Weaver, and Edmondson each made 2 points. Cooley added 1 point on a free throw.

The Panthers have only two district games left to play- Tuesday, February 1 in Comfort and Friday, February 4 in Harper.

The Lady Panther Junior Varsity squad lost by one point to Junction, 22-23. Ashlea Harvey, Megan Wier, and Autumn Collins each scored 6 points for Blanco. Maria Avila added 4.

The team bounced back against Ingram with a solid win, 35-28. Harvey melted the nets with six 3-pointers for 18 points total. Collins added 7 and Wier made 4. Natalie Stahmann, Taylor Guinn, and Deanna Sevilla each scored 2 points.
