Panthers Struggle in District Losses

The Blanco Panthers fell 45-56 in a tough loss to the Junction Eagles on Tuesday, January 25. Leading at halftime, the Panthers could not stop the Eagles’ second half rally. Austin Carrola pounded 18 points to lead the Panthers. Clayton Green scored 10, followed closely by Ian ray with 9. Sam Isenberg made 3 points. Colton Childress and Tanner Rogers each added 2 points. Matt Pepper scored 1 point on a free throw.

On Friday, January 28, the Panthers again played a solid first half, keeping it close 18-23 at the intermission. However, the Ingram Warriors found the basket for 36 points in the second half to hand the Panthers a 31-59 loss. Green led Blanco with 10 points. Carrola scored 7 and Rogers sank 6. Isenberg shot for 4 points with Ian Ray and James Perez adding 2 each.

The Panthers are working hard to regroup against Comfort on Tuesday, February 1 and Harper, February 4.

The Junior Varsity Panthers overwhelmed the Junction JV 41-22. David Ramirez slammed the hoops with 11 points, Josh McCaslin scored 9, with Quinn Dillard adding 8. Dakota Perkins sank 7 points, while Tyler Brown and Kyle Sauceda made 3 points each. Against Ingram, the junior varsity “white” jersey squad lost a close game 36-38. Sauceda burned the nets with 16 points. Ramirez ripped 10 points and Perkins scored 8. The JV “Gold” jersey team won their game, another close one, 38-37. Jubal Elrod slashed the nets with 17 points. Lane Hoelting scored 10, with Tyler Brown making 8. Carlin Green added 2 points.
