Pride in Our Community

Texas’s economic situation, though not as bad as other parts of the U.S.A., has taken a real toll on small towns like Blanco. The consequences are so visible in the empty commercial space that surrounds our Square and the businesses leaving the heart of our small town. Upkeep on homes and yards has taken a backseat to more pressing issues, like finding jobs and paying bills.

Rallying our community around clean-up projects gives our citizens an opportunity to feel better about the Blanco community and more optimistic about the future as an attractive, clean community attracts visitors and new business.

The first Saturday in April, Blanco will hold its 12th annual clean-up. The format will be slightly different this year so look for new information as the date draws near. By promoting clean, ecologically sound, heritage aware projects supported by participating in:

• Trash pick-up along our streets, creeks and river

• Beautification through planting

• Repair of dilapidated structures

• Removal of unsightly junk from yards

• Recycling

• Proper disposal of hazardous waste

Blanco’s Citizens can actively take Pride in Our Community. Let’s Keep Blanco Beautiful!
