Panthers Topple Eagles

The Blanco Panthers kept their playoff hopes alive with a decisive, 54-37, win over the Junction Eagles Friday, February 11. While Harper and Ingram have secured the top two spots for playoffs, Blanco and Junction are battling for the remaining position. This victory over the Eagles was a necessary win.

Senior Austin Carrola shredded the defense from his post position scoring 25 points. Senior Clayton Green shot a 3-pointer, lay-ups, and free throws to add 12 points for Blanco. Junior Tanner Rogers, Sophomore Ian Ray, and Sophomore Sam Isenberg each made 4 points. Freshman David Ramirez scored 3, with Junior Matt Pepper making 2 points.

The Junior Varsity also recorded a strong win over Junction, 43-25. Freshman Kyle Sauceda led the team with 13 points followed closely by sophomore Chad Marshall with 10 points. Sophomore Quinn Dillard scored 5 points, while freshman Dakota Perkins and sophomore Will Byler each made 4 points. Sophomore Gilbert Rodarte shot 3 points, and sophomores TJ Hardin and Tyler Brown each made 2 points.

The Panthers faced the Ingram Warriors Tuesday, February 15 in their final district game. Results will be available next week.
