Come celebrate Resurrection “Easter Sunrise Service” Sunday morning, April 24, at Yett Park. Pastor Rusty Hicks informed me at the “Light Night” event last October that it has been three years since Blanco came together for the Easter Sunrise Service. The outpouring of love at the “Light Night” and the community’s response are part of the motivators for this Easter Sunrise Service. Blanco Churches came together in love to stand against the darkness that Halloween represents; imagine how much more we can do to share the source of our Light, Jesus Christ, on Easter (Resurrection Sunday).
We are asking for help from the community for a city-wide worship team to be formed to lead us in worship Easter morning. We are hoping that every church in Blanco will be represented in this worship team. If you’re interested, please call 833-5443 and let us come together to practice some songs to worship the Risen Savior.
Pastor J.D. Link from Abundant Grace has agreed to bring the Sunrise message. J.D. Link is the founder and pastor of Abundant Grace Fellowship Church in Blanco, Texas. He is a 2003 Graduate of Andrew Wommack’s Charis Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as well as The Institute of Jewish-Christian Studies. He was on staff at Andrew Wommack Ministries while in Bible college, and has been blessed to teach The Word around the world. His heart’s desire as a pastor-teacher is to see people rooted and grounded in The Word of God and the grace of God, rock solid and unshakable in their faith. He currently resides in Blanco with his wife Krista and their five children: Haley, Hayden, Holly, Hannalea and Hudson.
Pastor J.D. Link is privileged to bring the Word for the Sunrise Service this year. His hope is that Brothers and Sisters from other churches, who do not already have a sunrise service scheduled, would come to fellowship together, as well as bring a friend or family member who do not know the Lord or who are not attending church. All Christian churches can be in unity on the fact that Jesus Christ rose bodily from the grave on the third day. Pastor J. D. Link does not want to proselytize Christians, nor interfere with regular Sunday services; he just wants to fellowship and worship Jesus Christ The Lord together, rejoice over the simple Gospel message, and hopefully see our lost loved ones come to know Jesus. Our hopes are to build on the “Light Night” concept of working together to promote Jesus Christ. His sincere prayer is that you will purpose in your heart to bring someone to hear about our “Risen Savior.”
We hope to provide breakfast tacos after the Sunrise Service and are asking for and need your help to prepare and serve the breakfast. If you have helped prepare breakfast or have the gift of serving, come let’s serve together. Please call 833-4321 to volunteer. The purpose of this time will be to facilitate a time of fellowship with one another around a common meal.
Then we will come back together for more worship, to be followed by a teaching in the arena by Jason Borchardt from Franklin Family Ranch - “Life Lessons Through Basic Horsemanship.” Jason is first and foremost a husband and father with a firm belief that building a home focused on the Lord is the foundation of a strong, loving, family. Jason has been horseback since he was old enough to hold the reins and involved in multiple disciplines throughout his life. Through the years, he has established a correlation between working with horses and his walk with the Lord. Jason will share his own story of “Brokenness” by demonstrating the qualities instilled in a horse that is broken, submitted, trusting, and developed by its trainer. Jason teaches the completely broken horse resembles our own brokenness before the Lord and gives rich insight that will bless us all to apply in our lives. Jason has keen insight into the process of training a horse and our own character development in our walk of faith.
You may be asking yourself, “but why would God want this? Why go through all this trouble to come together at Yett Park for an Easter Sunrise Service?” He is bringing us together so that we can fulfill the purpose for which we were created. To worship Him our Creator. He echoed this divine prerogative throughout the Scriptures. The Israelites were commanded by God to come to Jerusalem three times a year to attend the feasts celebrating (Pesach - Passover), (Shavu’ot - Pentecost) and (Feast of Trumpets). In Jesus’s day, this would have been the Feast of Passover. It did not matter if you were of the Sadducees, Pharisees, Essenes, Herodians, or Zealots - God commanded them to come together in Jerusalem to worship. God brought His people to Himself. To bring the people to worship Him.
We invite you and please receive this invitation to come out and join your brothers and sisters at Yett Park in worship of our Risen Savior Jesus Christ this Easter Sunday.
