Texas Public Schools Week is celebrated statewide March 7 through 11.

On Monday, Blanco High School will kick off Texas Public Schools Week with “Hats Off to Your Education” day, with students wearing caps of their favorite colleges. In addition, hallways will be displayed with locations and information of teachers’ colleges.

BHS will host its open house on Monday, March 7, from 5:45pm to 7:00pm. Hot dogs and refreshments will be served. The science department will perform exciting demonstrations at 6pm. A presentation of BHS’s One Act Play, ”The Scarlet Letter,” will be performed in the cafeteria at 6:30pm. On Tuesday, teachers will share their college experiences with their students. On Wednesday, students and teachers will wear t-shirts/sweaters of their favorite college. BHS is inviting incoming freshman from BMS to tour BHS Friday morning to introduce them to the high school experience and show what BHS has to offer, such as organizations and classes.

Blanco Middle School will have its open house on Tuesday, starting at 5:30pm. Hot dogs and refreshments will also be served. A presentation will be given from 6pm to 7pm. Students, parents and guests are invited so all can view the accomplishments and other highlights that have taken place throughout the campus.

The students and staff of Blanco Elementary will be observing Texas Public Schools Week by hosting an open house on Thursday, March 10, from 6pm to 7pm. Parents and community members are invited to visit the school to see the many ways students are learning and growing. Some of the items on display in the classrooms and hallways are writing, math and science journals; art work; posters; and science projects. All teachers will be on campus for this special event, so the school invites you to visit with our math and reading specialists and art, music and P.E. teachers. The school is also encouraging ESL (English as a second language) students to visit with their ESL teacher during this time.

“We hope to see you all there!”
