City, School Filing Deadlines Approach for May Elections

Two elections have been called for May 14, 2011.

Blanco City Council will hold an election to elect two city council members and a mayor. Mayor Chuck Homan’s position is up for re-election along with Danny Ray and Bobby McClung’s council seats.

Blanco ISD will hold a school board election on May 14, 2011, at the Blanco Elementary Cafeteria from 7am to 7pm. Places 1 and 2 are due to expire. They are presently served by Mary Ann Weaver (Place 1) and Troy Immel (Place 2). Early voting will be conducted at the Blanco ISD administration office from May 2 to May 10 from 7:45am to 3:45pm.

Candidates for both elections can file until March 14. For more information about the city election, call the city at 830-833-4525 or, for the school board election, call Blanco ISD at 830-833-4414.
