Wednesday, November 7, 2007 • Posted November 6, 2007

For senior citizens who are looking for a place to live, Blanco now offers The Henry House Senior Living center. The 15,000 square foot facility, located on the southeast corner of 3rd and Elm, is now open and is ready for new residents.

The Henry House was known locally as the Old Mill Nursing Home and has been completely renovated in the past year and a half, and is essentially a new building inside and out.

The 21-apartment facility is now open for seniors who are looking for a low-maintance home while remaining independent. Each apartment features a microwave and miniature refrigerator. Seven apartments are two bedroom suites.

Other amenities include a front common area with couches, tables, and TVs; a Jacuzzi; and a back room with tables for games and a theater system which features a large-screen TV. Residents get a key to the front door and their room, as well as 3 meals a day.

Texas Healthcare Solutions will also have an office in the facility for the benefit of residents.

The first couple moved in on Thursday, November 1, when the senior apartments facility opened. For more information, call 830-833-4567.

The Henry House is owned and operated by RL Toms, which is also well-known for running Live Oak Medical Center in Blanco and LBJ Medical Center in Johnson City.
