At the October general meeting of the Blanco Good Samaritan Center, Treasurer Lucy Uselton reported that 72 families in Blanco County had requested and been given aid in September.

Officers elected for the year 2008 were Whitey Uselton, president; Irene Baird, vice president; Pam Ridlehuber, secretary; and Lucy Uselton, treasurer. The Food Committee will be composed of Terry and June Carmichael, Arlyn Cook, and Doug Johnson. Mary Huser will be in charge of the clothing section.

The November distribution of food will follow the regular procedure, all of it being handled by the Good Samaritan Center. A turkey will be added for those who have completed registration in the past. (There will be no distribution of Thanksgiving baskets at the Baptist Church.)

The Blanco Good Samaritan Center at 7th and Pecan Streets is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM each week Monday-Friday.
