Super S Foods Awards $1,000 Scholarship to Local High School Graduates

Super S Foods, a Texas family owned and operated chain of supermarkets, has awarded $49,000 in academic scholarships this year to high school graduates throughout Central and South Texas.

Each individual recipient received a $1,000 scholarship that can be utilized to continue their education in various colleges and universities this fall.

Congratulations to Macy McMain recipient of the Super S Foods $1,000 scholarship award. All recipients of the scholarships were chosen by their school principal and the selection was based on the students outstanding scholastic achievements.

“This is an exciting time of year,” David McBurnett, Owner/C.E.O. of Super S Foods said. “The annual scholarship awards is just one of the many ways we help support the communities that we serve, and I can think of no better way to reinvest our funds than by helping further the education of our youth.” In addition to the $1,000 scholarship awards, Super S Foods gave every graduating senior that is employed with the company a free copy of “Cool Stuff “they should teach in school.

The book was written by young authors and entrepreneurs Kent and Kyle Healy for young people. The book covers real world situations from a young persons perspective including; attitude, people skills, leadership, goal setting, jobs and money.

The book was given to over 80 graduating seniors employed by Super S Foods.
