Wednesday, July 2, 2008 • Posted July 1, 2008

Senior Blanco FFA members Alisa Guler and Sarah Isenberg were each awarded Texas FFA Scholarships following interviews at the state degree and awards check in Stephenville at Tarleton State University earlier this summer. Alisa will receive a $15,000 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Scholarship. She will be attending Texas A&M in the fall and majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Sarah was awarded a $10,000 Dick Walrath Scholarship. She will be attending the University of Texas at Tyler and majoring in business.

Both Alisa and Sarah were very active members of the Blanco FFA, exhibiting livestock and participating on leadership and judging teams, while qualifying for district, area, state, and national competitions. In addition, each has served as a chapter officer for the past two years.

Alisa and Sarah will be presented their scholarships at the upcoming State FFA Convention in Lubbock in two weeks. In addition to being recognized on stage at the convention, both girls will attend an awards banquet and meal where they will meet the sponsors of their respective scholarships.
