• Ken Stein, of Austin, was fined $160.00 for speeding on Jun 1 (DPS).

• John Daniel Bynum, Jr., of Copperas Cove, was fined $156.00 for excessive air loss rate on May 7 (CVE).

• Teal Benson, of Santa Fe, TX, was fined $148.00 for failure to control speed on May 14 (DPS).

• Teal Benson, of Santa Fe, TX, was fined $177.75 for possession of drug paraphernalia on May 14 (DPS).

• Tracy Jean Green, of Dripping Springs, was fined $172.00 for speeding on May 29 (DPS).

• Lance Dwayne Calhoun, of Blanco, was fined $177.75 for possession of drug paraphernalia on Apr 26 (DPS).

May 30

• Alarm. 1:05 AM.

• Reckless Driver. 8:23 AM. US 281 at RR 32.

• Disturbance. 9:49 AM. A customer wouldn’t leave a business.

• Reckless Driver. 3:06 PM. US 281.

• Smoke Investigation. 3:12 PM. A wood pile on San Saba Ct. was smoking. The fire department was requested to check it out.

• Civil Matter. 9:41 PM.

• Civil Standby. 9:55 PM. Officers responded to a civil standby where a subject was possibly armed with a rifle (with Blanco Co. SO).

Jun 1

• Suspicious Persons. 2:29 AM. Three subjects were seen dragging something from the football field. The responding officer did not see any subjects in the area.

• Property Damage / Information. 2:30 PM. A caller asked to speak with an officer concerning property damage.

• Information. 2:53 PM. A caller asked to speak with an officer.

• Suspicious Circumstances. 10:43 PM. Subjects reportedly threw ice at a house.

Jun 3

• Alarm. 6:26 PM.

• Alarm. 9:19 PM. The building was secure.

Jun 4

• Medical Emergency. 9:22 AM. A caller reported that a subject passed out and was not responding, possibly from taking pills.

• Theft. 10:31 AM. A gas drive-off was reported.

Jun 5

• Motorist Assist. 6:00 AM. An officer issued a blue form to a driver after the vehicle hit a deer on US 281.

• Motorist Assist. 7:31 AM. A caller reported seeing a subject pushing a VW vehicle southbound on US 281, one mile north of Blanco. An officer reported that everything was OK and that he would get water for the subject.

• Stolen Boat. 11:42 AM. A boat was reported stolen.

• Suspicious Person. 1:38 PM. A subject was harassing an employee at a business. An officer issued a criminal trespass warning to the subject.

Blanco County Sheriff’s Office Reports

These reports were filed between May 30 and Jun 5.

May 30

• Citizen Assist. 7:06 AM. A caller reported a rattlesnake in her garage. An officer responded, delayed due to a traffic emergency, and took care of the snake.

• Traffic Hazard. 7:19 AM. A stalled 18-wheeler was partially blocking the turn lane to Austin at the Y. A wrecker was needed to clear the truck from the roadway (with Johnson City PD).

• Loose Livestock. 7:30 AM. A black bull was loose on RR 165 at CR 407. The owner was tracked down and the bull was put back into the fence.

• Loose Livestock. 8:32 PM. RR 2766, three miles west of RR 3232.

• Suspicious Persons. 10:34 PM. RR 1623 at Wayne Smith Dam (with Blanco PD).

May 31

• Civil Matter. 9:38 AM. A caller had made a subject leave the residence and wanted a restraining order. The caller was referred to the Justice of the Peace as this was a civil matter.

• Traffic Accident. 11:08 AM. US 281, north of Johnson City.

• Reckless Drivers. 11:49 AM. Bicyclists were being run off the road by vehicles on RR 1623. The complainant stated that passers-by were arguing because the cyclists were taking up the roadway. The responding officers told the drivers to yield to the bicyclists.

• Abandoned Property / Civil Matter. 1:42 PM. A caller had a boat that was never picked up by its owner.

• Missing Juvenile / Information. 2:48 PM. A caller gave a description of a missing juvenile to 911. An officer reported that another individual had spoken with the juvenile the previous night and the juvenile was not missing.

• Welfare Check. 11:54 PM. A subject was seen walking down US 281, near 962 West. The subject was not found.

Jun 1

• Disturbance / Assault. 1:22 AM. A complainant was hit in the mouth by another subject at the 4R Bar. Responding officers took the report.

• Suspicious Person. 1:52 AM. A person was seen lying next to a vehicle on Old Fitzhugh Rd. Hays County was notified and an officer from that county gave the person a ride to Dripping Springs. The vehicle was towed.

• Alarm. 8:37 AM. Accidental trigger.

• Suspicious Circumstances. 9:00 AM. Gun shots were heard in the area of Koch Rd.

• Traffic Hazard. 9:55 AM. Three 18-wheelers on US 281, north of Blanco, were driving very slowly and wouldn’t let vehicles pass. An officer reported that the trucks were moving a house and that they were moving faster when they hit the divided highway.

• Harassment. 2:51 PM. A caller reported harassment by a subject. An officer settled the situation, and both parties agreed to cease contact.

• Unknown. 3:10 PM. A vehicle was parked on private property on CR 212 at a low water crossing.

Jun 2

• Criminal Mischief. 1:15 AM. A caller reported a vehicle that drove through a gated entrance, into the south end of the subdivision, and was still parked there. Officers responded and arrested one subject.

• Suspicious Person. 3:29 AM. A subject was seen lying on the side of RR 32, next to a van. The caller stated that the subject got up and drove off in the van toward Blanco. Officers did not see the van.

• Theft. 9:24 AM. A subject filed a report on a theft.

• Reckless Driver. 2:37 PM. A truck with a trailer full of wood on US 281 was seen passing motorists on the shoulder.

• Close Patrol. 4:28 PM.

• Information. 7:58 PM. A caller gave the 911 operator information on a wanted subject.

• Accidental Death. 10:50 PM. Officers and Justice of the Peace Carter responded to a report of an accidental death on private property (with Texas DPS).

Jun 3

• Unauthorized Use of Vehicle. 4:27 AM. A subject took the complainant’s car without permission. Some of the complainant’s property was still in the car. A report was not filed at the time of the call.

• Loose Livestock. 7:30 AM. A white cow with black spots was reported loose on US 290 East, between McCall Creek and the Y. An officer was unable to locate the cow but found it on another stretch of road near Middle Creek.

• Criminal Mischief. 9:55 AM. TxDOT reported road signs on RR 1623 that were damaged or destroyed.

• Animal Complaint. 6:05 PM. A deputy was requested to handle a dog bite. The deputy spoke with the complainant and the dog’s owner.

Jun 4

• Traffic Accident. 8:12 AM. A one-vehicle accident was reported on Cypress Mill Rd. with damage to a fence. The vehicle did not have license plates.

• Threats. 11:00 AM. An complainant reported receiving threats from a subject. An officer made contact with the subject, who admitted past confrontations but claimed that there were not any recent threats and there wouldn’t be any contact with the complainant.

• Theft (Lost or Stolen). 2:13 PM. A gun was reported lost or stolen from a residence.

• Prisoner Transport. 9:55 PM. One subject was taken from the jail to the Burnet County line.

Jun 5

• Welfare Concern. 12:55 AM. A caller was worried that a subject would be causing trouble. The officer who responded reported that the parties involved were separated.

• Prisoner Transfer. 8:11 AM.

• Animal Complaint. 8:28 AM. A snake was seen in the caller’s yard, near the house.

• Animal Complaint. 11:35 AM. A snake was in the caller’s bird cage.

• Motorist Assist. 1:31 PM. A subject was seen walking on US 281, northbound into Johnson City, and a broken-down vehicle was to the south. The subject turned down assistance from an officer.

May 30

• Arrest on View. 6:18 PM. One subject was arrested on US 281, south of the Y.

May 31

• Arrest on View. 12:29 AM. One subject was arrested.

Jun 2

• Suspicious Vehicle. 3:19 PM. A caller on US 290 reported a silver convertible that had run off the road and was under some trees and brush.

• Traffic Accident. 10:49 PM. A motorcycle accident was reported on RR 165.

Jun 4

• Arrest on View. 8:55 PM. One subject was arrested on US 281.
