Uptown Blanco Art Center Offers Summer Fun
Wednesday, July 30, 2008 • Posted July 29, 2008

Uptown Blanco Art Center completed an excellent summer camp for children with a luau where they “erupted” a homemade volcano, a project they worked on throughout the two-week session. The camp was open to any child between the ages of 5 and 12 with age appropriate projects for everyone to enjoy. Some activities included clay, collage, acrylic painting, drawing, beading, songs and story telling. All instruction was given by expert local artists and instructors. During their lunch break the children had the option to paint rocks, hula hoop, play organized games and listen to master story-teller Maggie Goodman

The camp went Monday thru Thursday from 9-1 beginning July 7 and ended July 17. When asked their favorite part of the camp, the children answered, “Everything!”

The last summer session starts August 4 and is open to boys and girls from ages 5 to 12. Please stop by the Uptown Blanco Art Center on Third Street in Blanco or feel free to call us at 830-833-2514 for more detailed information
