Fall is here and the temperatures are dropping, but Potpourri news is always cool!

First, we must apologize for missing Leona Smylie's birthday - belated happy birthday to one of our favorite ladies. Leona and TD's daughter, Pat, are having a dinner to celebrate the Smylies' 65th wedding anniversary this week, so congratulations are in order.

Second, there is a social event happening on the courthouse lawn this Friday at 6:00. Come by and welcome a special visitor to Blanco, Amanda Griffith (our editor's friend from Colorado).

Gaspar Enriquez is progressing, slowly but surely. He has a long rehabilitation ahead, so stop off at Cilantro's and sign the big red chef's apron to let him know people in Blanco are thinking about him.

Ora Kneupper celebrated her 91st birthday on Saturday, September 29th with a bar-b-que lunch prepared by her daughters and son-in-law. Dorothy Clark and MarieAnna and Jerry Lindemann. Some of her immediate family helped celebrate the day.

Cicero Rust celebrated his 92nd birthday last Friday. C.A. Rust III honored his father with a coconut cake, which was shared with guests who dropped by, including from out of town: The Travis Maertz Family of Cat Springs and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Moraign of San Antonio.

On September 25, 2007, Lillie Foster turned 86 years old and celebrated with a party with family and friends, who enjoyed 2 homemade angel food cakes and 1 decorated birthday cake, ice cream and lemonade. Those attending were: sister, Mary Petty of Blanco, daughters; Marella Murrah, Blanco; Sidni Wickliffe, Richmond, TX; Marthelyn Denman, Punta Gorda, FL; granddaughter-in-law, Katy Murrah, Blanco; great-grandson, Caleb Murrah, Blanco; and about 15 other residents.
