Blanco County Fair and Rodeo Offers Fun for Everyone

The 2008 Blanco County Fair Exhibit Hall will feature several new events for both children and adults on Saturday, August 16.

Four FREE activities are planned for the kids.

PEC Programs Representatives will be on hand to present the Louie the Lightning Bug program.

Texas Farm Bureau Field Representative, Dennis Dean, will be on hand with the Mobile Learning Barn.

The Mobile Learning Barn highlights agriculture commodities and their by products and illustrates how agriculture impacts our daily lives. Dennis will lead the kids in a scavenger hunt just outside the Exhibit Hall.

Also present will be Clyde Holekamp, Southwest Dairy Museum Instructor, will demonstrate how to milk a cow and explain how milk goes from the farm to the consumer.

Then, cool off in the Exhibit Hall with the Master Gardeners. Kids will be able to paint their own flower pot and plant cosmos.

Saturday, August 18

11 am to 8 pm-Exhibit Hall open

Noon-Louie the Lightening Bug, Presented by PEC

1 pm-Farm Bureau Mobile Learning Barn and Southwest Dairy Museum Mobile Dairy Classroom

2 pm-Farm Bureau Mobile Learning Barn and Southwest Dairy Museum Mobile Dairy Classroom

3 pm-Flower Pot Decorating hosted by Master Gardeners
