Jesus
Savior of the World
Wednesday, August 13, 2008 • Posted August 12, 2008

When the woman of Samaria told the citizens of Sychar about Jesus, the Bible says that many believed in Him. After Jesus spent two days with the people, they came to the conclusion that Jesus indeed was the Savior of the world. It must have been an impressive visit! (John 4)

We should give thanks to God our Father for our Savior. We are always in His debt. Full of grace and truth Jesus was sent to save us from ourselves. From our own sins. He paid the price on the cross that can cancel out our sin debt. A debt we could never pay. We should give thanks unto Him for His immeasurable grace.

Jesus taught the woman at the well something about herself and her need for a Savior. He would teach us the same if we would but take the time to listen. May we long to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all things. He has left us His word that we might follow in His blessed way.

A savior is not born every day. Man thinks that his savior is right around the corner. Some new gimmick, a new best seller, a new insightful philosophy, and on and on we go. It’s a hit for a while, and then it’s thrown into a pile of other empty dreams, and we await the next answer. Our thirst is never quenched and we think that the answer is just around the bend. Always around the bend, Just out of reach!

Perhaps the answer is already here, and His name is Jesus!
