• Richard Reynolds Purpura, of Blanco, was fined $196.00 for speeding on Jul 13 (DPS).

• Jeremiah Johnson, of Blanco, was fined $118.00 for expired registration on May 29 (DPS).

• John Edward Tarrillion, of San Antonio, was fined $177.00 for open container on Jun 27 (DPS).

• Warren Leslie Skeels, of Seguin, was fined $208.00 for speeding on Jul 11 (DPS).

• Edward Charles Verhey, Jr., of Spring Branch, was fined $148.00 for driving while not secured by a safety belt on Jul 3 (DPS).

• Daniel Dean Triesch, of Blanco, was fined $148.00 for driving while not secured by a safety belt on Jul 13 (DPS).

• Sonya Sue Hicks, of Blanco, was fined $172.00 for speeding on Jun 27 (DPS).

• Robert Curtis Clark, of Killeen, was fined $166.00 for speeding on Jul 6 (DPS).

• Kenneth Joseph Schindler, of Fredericksburg, was fined $178.00 for speeding on Jul 11 (DPS).

• Efrain Cantu-Hernandez, of Quemado, was fined $160.00 for speeding on Jun 22 (DPS).

• Eric Harold Throne, of Austin, was fined $166.00 for speeding on Jul 30 (DPS).

• Kenneth James Bellah, of Buchanan Dam, was fined $172.00 for speeding on Jul 11 (DPS).

• James Garland Orcutt, of New Braunfels, was fined $166.00 for speeding on Jul 19 (DPS).

• Angelyn Curran, of Canyon Lake, was fined $196.00 for speeding on Jul 11 (DPS).

• Cary Todd Lowery, of Dripping Springs, was fined $160.00 for speeding on Jul 20 (DPS).

• Laurie Denise Bailey, of Spring Branch, was fined $148.00 for running a stop sign on Jul 23 (SO).

• Don Allen Rossow, of Fredericksburg, was fined $166.00 for speeding on Jul 11 (DPS).

Blanco Police Reports

These reports were filed between Jul 31 and Aug 5.

Jul 31

• Lost Property. 9:56 AM. A wallet was reported lost.

• Threats. 12:31 PM. A juvenile threatened another.

• Animal Complaint. 7:44 PM. A neglected dog was reportedly tied to a fence. The animal was taken to the veterinarian.

• Noise Complaint. 8:47 PM. Apartments on Jones Ave.

Aug 1

• Minor Traffic Accident. 3:20 PM. An officer issued a blue form to a subject who backed into another car at the liquor store.

Aug 2

• Suspicious Person. 1:55 AM. A subject was walking along US 281, near Logan’s Way.

Aug 3

• Alarm. 9:59 AM.

• Information. 2:28 PM. A caller gave information to an officer.

• Suspicious Person. 5:12 PM. A subject in Blanco Ice House was panhandling and acting suspicious. Officers asked the subject to leave.

Aug 4

• Runaway. 2:09 PM. A report on a runaway was filed with the Sheriff’s Office. Subjects were advised to notify CPS.

• Minor Traffic Accident. 6:20 PM. A blue form was issued for an accident in the Super S parking lot.

• Minor Traffic Accident. 8:39 PM. A hit and run was reported on RR 165. An officer issued a blue form (with Blanco Co. SO).

• 911 Hangup. 9:27 PM. C.J’s. Everything was OK, reported the officer.

Aug 5

• Unknown. 12:07 AM. A caller reported that a juvenile fell off a bicycle on Pecan St., appeared to be intoxicated, and stated that he was a runaway. Officers found no sign of the juvenile.

• Alarm. 5:03 AM. Accidental triggering.

• 911 Hangup. 11:35 AM.

Blanco County Sheriff’s Office Reports

These reports were filed between Jul 31 and Aug 5.

Jul 31

• Motorist Assist. 1:05 AM. A vehicle was seen on the side of the road at the Y. The hood was up and no one was around. The vehicle was gone on the officer’s arrival.

• Road Hazard. 7:44 AM. A vehicle looked to be broken down on the side of US 281, north of Blanco at Rolling Hills Rd.; its hood was up and the vehicle was partially blocking the outside lane. An officer assisted in clearing the roadway.

• Reckless Driver. 10:35 AM. A truck with a wide load was driving up US 281 at a high rate of speed, passing in the no passing zone. The officer did not observe any violations.

• Agency Assist. 1:02 PM. Gillespie County requested Blanco County deputies look for a truck that had dumped palettes and plywood at a rest stop and took off.

• Traffic Accident. 1:27 PM. Two vehicles clipped mirrors on 962 West. An officer was requested, who issued blue forms.

• Livestock Complaint. 1:34 PM. A black calf was out on the road near Cypress Mill.

• Fire Violation. 6:13 PM.

• Theft. 8:48 PM. Property was reported stolen at Yett Park.

Aug 1

• Suspicious Vehicle. 4:35 AM. A vehicle was reportedly sitting across the road, its lights pointed at the caller’s house. Officers responded and arrested one subject.

• Abandoned Vehicle. 7:50 AM. A vehicle was seen on the side of Sandy Rd. for the last three days with no one around. The vehicle was well off the roadway and belonged to a car pool, reported the officer.

• Reckless Driver. 10:37 AM. A vehicle was reported swerving into oncoming traffic on RR 32.

• Supplement Report. 11:44 AM. An officer filed an additional report after property was returned.

• Reckless Driver. 1:39 PM. US 281.

• Loose Livestock. 7:43 PM. A cow was grazing by the side of US 281. Officers put the cow back into the pasture.

• Suspicious Vehicle. 9:18 PM. A strange vehicle repeatedly drove by the caller’s home.

Aug 2

• Disturbance. 1:22 AM. Deputies and Johnson City PD officers responded to the 4R Bar after a report of shots fired. EMS was requested to standby while officers handled the situation. Officers were led to nearby streets. Two subjects were detained. A wrecker was requested. Subjects were moved to the jail. Dispatch contacted Marble Falls PD for a gun shot residue kit. EMS was requested at the county jail to tend to a prisoner. The call was closed at 5:36 AM.

• Loose Livestock. 2:18 PM. Goats were seen on the side of US 281. They were put back into the fence.

• Animal Complaint. 2:19 PM. A pit bull was at the caller’s door; the caller didn’t know what to do with it. 911 responded that Blanco County did not have animal control. The dog left the area.

• Traffic Accident. 2:52 PM. A motorcycle accident was reported on 473 West. The officer reported that the report was false—no accident had occurred.

• Motorist Assist. 3:42 PM. A truck and trailer had a blowout on US 281. The caller reported that the couple with the vehicle looked distressed.

• Aerial Fireworks. 9:44 PM. RR 1323.

Aug 3

• Criminal Mischief / Information. 12:57 AM. A caller reported that a subject in a vehicle on US 281 threw a full beer can out the window, hitting the caller’s windshield. No damage or injuries occurred.

• 911 Call. 2:14 AM. A call from someone camping at Lake Travis was transferred to Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

• Information. 6:13 AM. Mailbox damage was reported.

• Followup (Security Camera). 6:57 AM.

• Suspicious Motorist. 9:39 AM. A suspicious vehicle stopped and the driver asked for gas (with Johnson City PD).

• Motorist Assist. 10:26 AM. A vehicle with a flat tire was seen on US 281.

• Vandalism. 1:05 PM. Mailbox damage was reported.

• Smoke Investigation. 9:46 PM. A caller smelled smoke.

Aug 4

• Traffic Accident. 6:21 AM. US 281, southbound past RR 32 (with Texas DPS).

• Criminal Mischief. 8:25 AM. A vehicle’s broken window was reported.

• Loose Livestock. 8:52 AM. Two cows were reported loose on US 281. The officers reported that the cows were in the fence.

• Road Hazard. 9:24 AM. Three dump trucks were traveling southbound on US 281, past Berkley’s, when one dropped rocks all over the highway, hitting people’s cars.

• Criminal Mischief. 11:00 AM. Mailbox damage was reported.

• Traffic Hazard. 12:20 PM. Wire was on the side of US 290.

• Trespass. 1:33 PM.

• Loose Livestock. 1:37 PM. Two horses were loose on CR 212 but were quickly caught.

• Burglary. 4:54 PM. A caller stated that the neighbor’s house looked burglarized.

• Burglary / Information. 5:10 PM. A caller reported a broken door and property taken.

Aug 5

• Suspicious Activity. 3:45 AM. A caller stated that someone was in the church being built on Old River Crossing. Officers responded and found the building secure and no one inside (with Johnson City PD).

• Citizen Assist. 1:24 PM. An officer gave a subject a ride to Gillespie County.

• Trespassing. 2:03 PM. RR 1623.

• Juvenile Complaint. 6:00 PM. A caller reported a missing juvenile. The juvenile later came home.

• Loose Livestock. 6:15 PM. A loose llama was reported near CR 210. The officer reported that the area was open range.

• Fire Violation. 7:18 PM. A controlled burn was reported.

• Fire Violation. 8:51 PM. A controlled burn was reported. An officer settled the situation at the scene.

• Suspicious Circumstances. 11:12 PM. A caller smelled something funny, like someone burning rubber. The smell was not located by the responding officer.

Texas Department of Public Safety Reports

These reports were filed between Jul 31 and Aug 5.

Jul 31

• Traffic Accident. 11:30 AM. Officers responded to a motorcycle versus truck accident on CR 102. The motorcycle was under the truck, but the driver was up and talking.

Aug 2

• Arrest. 12:46 AM. CR 305.

• Traffic Accident / Arrest on View. 8:25 PM. A two-vehicle accident occurred on US 290 West. One car was on fire in the grass. One subject was taken into custody. PEC was notified of damage. Blanco County Sheriff’s Deputies and Johnson City PD assisted.

• Missing Person. 2:05 AM. Pedernales State Park.
