Commissioners Lift Burn Ban
Wednesday, August 27, 2008 • Posted August 26, 2008

During a special meeting of the Blanco County Commissioners Court, the court voted to lift the burn ban for the county. Judge Guthrie said that the ban would be lifted as “long as people are careful,” saying the phrase again for emphasis, “and I mean CAREFUL.” The most recent burn ban ended on Monday, August 25th. Judge Guthrie and the court reserve the right to reinstate another ban on the county if they see any surge in fire incident reports as this would indicate residents are not being respectful in the way they are burning brush.

The commissioners also voted to allow Judge Guthrie to sign an agreement in the amount of $13,228 with Motorola for monthly maintenance of all the emergency radio equipment for the county.

Commissioner Granberg presented a check for $2726.50, as reimbursement for county recycling, from CapCog.

The outstanding bills were approved as well as minutes from prior meetings.

Meeting adjourned.
