What's Up In Kendalia
Wednesday, September 10, 2008 • Posted September 9, 2008

Kendalia Community Club, at their monthly meeting, discussed some of the final plans for a new pavilion to be built on the Kendalia Library/School grounds. The pavilion will better serve the community for the annual Kendalia Homecoming, and many other functions throughout the year.

Steve Wertheim, President of Blanco County Lawn Mower Racing Association, is working with Spring Branch-Bulverde Lions Club to finalize plans for a major lawn mower racing event on Saturday, October 18, 2008. Four of the mowers appearing were used to mow grass in the Kendalia area until they wore out, then donated and modified into racers.

Sponsored by HEB, Brumley Professional Employer Services, and Corbo Electric, the races will start at 1130 AM at Cibolo Livery Tejas Rodeo Arena located at 401 Obst Road in Bulverde, Texas. Sanctioned by the LSMRA and USLMRA/Sta-Bil, mower drivers from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana will rev up and race at speeds from 5 MPH up to 60 MPH in seven classes of racing mowers.
