PEC Allocates 2007 Capital Credits
Wednesday, September 10, 2008 • Posted September 9, 2008

Pedernales Electric Cooperative has allocated eligible member’s 2007 capital credits. Capital credits allocations are assigned to members’ accounts annually and represent each member’s portion of end-of-year margins, based on the amount of electricity each member was billed for during the calendar year. Allocations are not monetary distributions to members.

Margins represent amounts remaining after all Cooperative expenses for the year have been recorded. Margins are not held in an account as funds. They are typically reinvested into utility infrastructure or returned to members as capital credits distributions when PEC’s Board of Directors determines it is financially feasible. This practice is in accordance with the capital credits policy stated in PEC’s Bylaws.

PEC calculated individual capital credits allocation amounts by adding their 2007 kilowatt-hour billings reflected on their bills as energy used (excluding taxes, late and returned check fees) and multiplying that total by the 2007 capital credits allocation factor of .04831656. Members may visit www.pec.coop for additional capital credits information or call PEC toll-free at 1-888-554-4732 for their capital credits account balance.
