Blanco artist Laura Walser is participating in a two woman art show at the Southwood Theater in Austin. Participating in the two week show with Mrs. Walser is Mary Alderson from Austin.
The show began on November 12 and will run through November 26.

Sp-4 and Mrs. Allen D. Zuercher are the proud parents of an 8 pound, 4 ounce son, Allen David, born October 25 at Brooke General Hospital.
Maternal grandparent is Mrs. Otto Haag of Boerne and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Elton Zuercher of Kendalia.
Sp-4 Zuercher is stationed at Fort Belvoir, Va.
C of C To Meet Monday
November 17, 1967
The Blanco Chamber of Commerce will have their regular covered dish supper and meeting Monday, November 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Members, both “former and prospective” and all interested citizens are invited to attend.
An interesting and informative program on “New Insurance Laws” with a short film will be given.
Vacation in Hawaii
November 17, 1967
Mrs. R.W. Cage and daughter, Cayce, flew to Los Angeles the latter part of October to meet Capt. Cage, who is a pilot for Continental Airlines out of Los Angeles.
From there the family flew to Hawaii by Pan-Am Airlines. After a week of touring the island of Oahu they returned to Los Angeles.
Mrs. Cage and Cayce then flew to Columbus, Ohio to visit her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Amiel Giampapa for a few days.
They are now back in Blanco.
Get-together November 20
November 18, 1987
The Trinity Lutheran Church pre-teens are planning a junior high get-together on Friday, November 20, 1987.
The planned event will be in the church annex and the social will be open from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. There will be music, snacks, and lots of fun. This social will be open to all of Blanco’s pre-teens.
The pre-teens of Trinity Lutheran sincerely wish to extend this invitation for all their peers to please join them for an evening of fun.
Popcorn jars in

The freshman class sold popcorn-decanter jars and they are now in. If you ordered some, be ready to hand out the cash and clear a spot on your counter or shelf.
They should be arriving at your house immediately.
Junior High Basketball
November 18, 1977
Junior High Basketball in Blanco opened its season Thursday against the Boerne Greyhounds.
Their next game will be on November 29 in our gym against Johnson City. Tip off for the first game is at 4:00 p.m.
By the way, this year all of the girls’ teams, excluding the Varsity, are playing all court. So if you want to see something a little different, come on out and watch.
Panther Band to Enter Contest
November 17, 1967
This Saturday, November 18, the Blanco Panther Band will enter the Region XI, University Interscholastic League Marching Contest in Fredericksburg. Twenty Two bands are entering in the contest.
Last year the Blanco Band was one of the twenty five bands that received a first division rating and is hoping to do the same again this year. The judges for the contest will be: Joe Rogers from New Braunfels High School, John Bridges from Randolph High School and Dan Gibbs from Monahans High School.
Mrs. Wolf Attends Pilgrimage to Her Grandfather’s Home
November 17, 1967
Mrs. Erna Wolf attended the pilgrimage to the historic home and grave of her grandfather, Jacob Brodbeck (inventor) at Luckenbach last Saturday, November 11. The pilgrimage was sponsored by the German Department of Our Lady of the Lake College, San Antonio.
A wreath was laid on his grave by Dr. D. Harrison, author of the historical novel “1865 – Wings Over Texas.”
This book, which will be on sale for Hemis Fair ’68.
