Panthers Smile With Pride After Victory Over Texans

The Varsity Lady Panthers took to the court against the Wimberley Texans on Monday, November 19 in Blanco. This was not the same team that played Marion less then a week ago. This Panther team meant business, and you could definitely tell when they stepped out onto the court in their shiny new white jerseys.

The Panthers took a nine point lead in the first period and

they just kept shooting the ball and it just played to their favor as it continued to fall into the basket for them. The teams retired to the locker rooms at half time with the Panthers in the lead with a 27-11 score.

As the teams returned to the court, the Panthers talked it up to each other, they seemed happy to be on the court and it showed on the scoreboard as they raised their score to a total of 49 points while the Texans struggled at 24 points.

The Panthers played hard ball to the final buzzer and then the smiles on their faces said it all, a victory over a very good team. A 64-39 victory, which left the Texan fans in disbelief.

High scorer was Sarah Kocurek who sank five three-point shots, six two-point shots and was one for three at the line for a total of 28 points.

Sarah Isenberg finished the night with a total of three three-point shots, one two-point shot and was one for two at the line for a total of 12 points.

Crystal Thomas finished the night with a total of six points as she sank two two-point shots and was two for four at the line followed by Symbri McCarroll and Alisa Guler, who each had five points.

Madeline Walker and Alyssa Warner each had three points followed by Lacee Hunter who had two points.

The Panthers are holding a 1-1 record after this game, they traveled to Johnson City to face the Eagles on Tuesday, November 20 with hopes of going into the holiday season with a 2-1 record.
