Dear Editor,

People we have a problem!!! I did not say I have a problem. This is a serious situation in our town that I have undoubtedly been blind and naive about and affects each and every law abiding citizens in this town. I am speaking of the drug problem. Yes people, we have a drug problem.

I realized the extent of the problem just recently when I witnessed a drug deal go down right outside of one of our more popular eating establishments here in town and the dealers told me that they owned this f—in town and there wasn’t a GD thing I our anyone else could do about it. I don’t know how this makes you feel but it made me furious to think that they could make such a blatten claim in front of witnesses and think that we as citizens would actually let this stand. I for one will not

I am here to ask you as citizens, parents and students do not turn your back anymore. I am asking anyone that wants to live in a small safe community to take an interest in this town and help us take back this beautiful hill country community that I moved to 15 years ago.

I know of others that have recently had their homes and vehicles broken into. I myself have had my home broken into, my truck stolen and damaged, my son threatened, my dog poisoned and killed, I’ve seen drugs dealt and been threatened and I am sick of it.

I am asking for every individual in this town and that lives out of town as well because this doesn’t affect just the townspeople but anyone that wants to call this home to join together and be proactive in this task.

Get involved, attend city council meetings, attend school board meetings, these are our kids being infected by these vermin. Let’s get organized!!!

Thank you sincerely,

Gene Collins
