Taylor Weaver and Heather Dillard to Perform at BUMC Saturday, September 27
Wednesday, September 24, 2008 • Posted September 23, 2008

Ms. Weaver, a native of Manor, Texas, has been singing since the age of three and became the pianist for her home church when she was 12, a position she held until she left for college at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. She wrote her first song at age 15 and was invited to write the theme song for the Texas Future Homemakers of America Convention at Palmer Auditorium in Austin, Texas. She performed the song at the Convention before an audience of 6,000 students and teachers from across the state. This experience helped to shape her future as a gifted singer, recording artist (5 CD’s), producer and arranger, music instructor and published in more than 30 countries. Ms. Weaver is the owner of ATW Academy of Music and Performance and serves as worship leader at her church in Round Rock, Texas. Ms. Weaver is a member of American Society of Composers and Publishers (ASCAP), Gospel Music Association (GMA) and Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI).

You will be inspired by Heather Dillard’s sweet spirit, high energy and enthusiasm. An award-winning performer, Ms. Dillard has shared the stage with Larry Gatlin, Cynthia Clawson, Johnny Ray Watson and members of George Strait’s Ace-in-the Hole Band.

This Mother-Daughter duo performs for numerous audiences, covering a wide range of styles from Big Band to Broadway, Classical to Classic Country, and Gershwin to Gospel. They are well known for their duet rendition of the National Anthem, but the duo’s greatest love is sharing music through praise and worship and singing their original inspirational songs written to honor God. “My desire is to please God and present my time, talent, and resources as a living sacrifice for His purpose and to bring Him glory. I believe God has called me, both through writing and singing, to minister hope and encouragement to those who are weary; to challenge Christians to a deeper love for God and for each other; and to point lost sheep to the loving Shepherd – Jesus Christ. My greatest prayer is that through our voices, His voice will be heard,” says Ms. Weaver.

Ms. Weaver and Ms. Dillard have performed as soloists and as a duo at Waco’s Branson on the Brazos, Arlington’s Johnnie High Country Music Revue, Georgetown Opry and Gospel Jamboree, Palace Theater and numerous events around the Austin and central Texas area. Believing in giving back to others, they have shared their talents with the American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, Central Texas Arthritis Foundation, and Family and Community Education Association. One of their favorite annual events is the Texas Nurses Christian Fellowship Retreat held each year in Round Top, Texas.

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear the rich harmonies of this gifted duo! Bring your lawn chairs, friends, and family to enjoy the fellowship on the Church’s courtyard grounds!
