The Annual Council Meeting took place September 21, 2007, 9AM at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Blanco. There was a nice selection of breakfast foods and beverages available with a pretty decor of lavender. There was time for fellowship while the past Annual Council Meeting minutes of the previous year was distributed.
Council Chairperson, Gwen Risinger called the meeting open, welcoming 18 members and one visitor, Mary Ruth Wallis, daughter of Jewell Sultemeier. Jewell is a 60+ year Extension member and it was a pleasure to have them attend. Ms. Risinger announced the titles of the State’s Extension Education for the new year as “After 72 Hours - What? Cultivate Your Landscape, and Nip Clutter in the Bud.”
Gwen Risinger presented the outgoing TEEA Club President, Council Officers and Committee Chairperson with a beautifully decorated arched-handled spoon, similar to a soup spoon but shorter, with a sincere thank you for the efforts of all members toward accomplishing the goals of the Association during the past year.
County Extension Agent, Gretchen Sanders installed the new Council Officers. She selected an unusual theme of candy bars as symbols! The incoming Council Chairperson, Marj Daniel received a Mars bar; Vice Chairperson, Glenn Bishop is the Twix and Between, receiving a Twix candy bar; Secretary, Jocelyn Carter received a Smarty candy bar and Treasurer, Gwen Risinger received a Payday candy bar. The outgoing Blanco County Council Chairperson was Gwen Risinger. The incoming Council Chairperson is Marj Daniels.
