In my search for ‘deliverance’ from bondage, strongholds, wrong thinking patterns and bad habits, I share these Scriptures, praying they will help someone else, as they’ve helped me.
Exodus 6:4-6 - “4And I reaffirmed my covenant with them. Under its terms, I promised to give them the land of Canaan, where they were living as foreigners. 5 You can be sure that I have heard the groans of the people of Israel, who are now slaves to the Egyptians. And I am well aware of my covenant with them.
6 “Therefore, say to the people of Israel: ‘I am the Lord. I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment.”
That may be Old Testament, but didn’t Jesus speak and teach, based on it? I haven’t done it yet, but if you were to run a search on how many times Jesus quoted Scripture out of Psalms and even Proverbs, I think one might be more inclined to apply them to their life.
2 Timothy 3:16 – “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”
As we pray, I think the Holy Spirit will guide us, even as it is written, “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” John 14:26
Hebrews 8:6 – “6 But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises.”
Psalm 71:4 – “4 My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked, from the clutches of cruel oppressors.”
Dear Heavenly Father, You are our Healer, and You sent your Son Jesus, Who is our High Priest, and it’s in His name that we ask to be delivered from all wrong thinking and strongholds that are holding us down. Deliver us from depression, oppression, addictions, wrong thinking, and wrong speaking. Heal us Lord! And guide us to Scripture to free us. We believe, help our unbelief.
Mark 9:24 – “The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”
Deuteronomy 7:12 – “12 “If you listen to these regulations and faithfully obey them, the Lord your God will keep his covenant of unfailing love with you, as he promised with an oath to your ancestors.”
Deuteronomy 8:18 - 18” Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.”
Deuteronomy 28:1-4 – “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. 2 You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:
3 Your towns and your fields will be blessed.
4 Your children and your crops will be blessed.
The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed.”
Colossians 1:13-14 – “13 For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.”
Isaiah 61:1-3 – “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be release and prisoners will be freed.
2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
3 To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.”
Job 5:15 – “15 He rescues the poor from the cutting words of the strong, and rescues them from the clutches of the powerful.”
