•2008 Mow Down Show Down Lawn Mower Races presented by Spring Branch-Bulverde Lions Club and Blanco County Lawn Mower Racers. Cibolo Livery Tejas Rodeo Arena, 401 Obst Road, Bulverde, Texas. Gates open at 10:30am, races start at 11:30am. Admission $5, kids 5 and under free.

•The Kendall County Area Democratic Women (KCADW) will host their 10th annual Eleanor Roosevelt Dinner & Fundraiser on Sat, Oct. 18th, at the Boerne Community Center. Wine & cheese served at 6:00pm; dinner at 7:00. Speaker will be Justice Catherine Stone of the Fourth Court of Appeals. Suggested contribution for dinner is $30 per person.
