Community Choir to Sing this Weekend
Wednesday, December 5, 2007 • Posted December 4, 2007

The Blanco County Community Choir will present its annual Christmas concert this weekend – once in Johnson City and once in Blanco. Performances will be as follows:

• 8:00 PM on Friday, December 7, at the First Baptist Church of Johnson City, 102 Avenue F (at US 290 West);

• 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 9, at the First Baptist Church of Blanco, 1200 4th Street (Ranch Road 1623 at Terri Lane).

For 2007, the concert theme is “Carols of the Renaissance”, and will feature choral, harp, and recorder renditions of (mostly) familiar Christmas music from that period.

Co-directors Vickie Pautz and Beverly Voron have led the choir in practices since mid-September. Choir members come from many locales in Blanco County as well as from surrounding areas and from San Antonio.

The choir is accompanied by pianist Mary Weirich of Johnson City. Featured guest performers are Jan Jackson of San Marcos on recorders and Crumhorns, and Susan Marshall of Blanco on Celtic harp.

In addition to choir and instrumental numbers, the audience will be encouraged to participate in the singing of some carols.

Come out and hear your neighbors provide an evening of truly beautiful music!
