Helen Ferguson, 79, passed away November 27, 2007 at her home in Blanco. She was born March 10, 1928 in Asherton, Texas. Helen was loved by everyone.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and very active in the First Baptist Church in Blanco. Helen worked and did volunteer work at Liveoak Nursing Home. Although Helen was a full time mother and homemaker, she also worked at Poor Boy’s Grocery and Hill Country Stop in Blanco and H.E.B. Helen’s baby sitting skills were sought after by anyone with children who wanted a kind and loving “Grandma”. And she could always be found doing some kind of charitable work for her community.

Helen loved Blanco Panther sports of any kind and her San Antonio Spurs. She could be greatly influenced with an offer of fried oysters!

Helen is survived by her husband, Bill of Blanco, two sons Billy, Jr. of Magnolia and Kelly of Blanco, one daughter, Janet Metcalf of Blanco and one brother Edwin Vivian of Laredo. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Helen was held Wednesday, November 28, from 5 – 8:00 p.m. At Crofts Funeral Home, Blanco. Services were held Thursday, November 29 at 10:00 p.m. At the First Baptist Church in Blanco. Burial followed at the Blanco Cemetery.
