Gentle readers:

I wanted first to offer my condolences to the families of the Eickenloffs, Chester Goehmann, Ruth Ford, and so many others lately. I have only known a few of them, but the ones I have known were wonderful. They will be sadly missed.

On a happier note, happy anniversary to Candi and Tony Floerke!

Be prepared for MY photos of the Wild Game dinner - lots of candid shots of some well-known and some not-so-well-known Blanco-ites! Even if they were taken with a disposable camera!!!!

Don't forget the BUMC Bazaar on November 1. There are going to be lots of bargains, lots of GOOD FOOD (even if I do say so myself), and who knows what else!!!

I have to mention (if I didn't before) that if you ever get a chance to see Slim Roberts and the Texas Weather Band and The Tommy Burney Band, do it! What great country dance bands, playing all the oldies AND the goodies!

Just because Mysty isn't at High Maintenance (across from the Dairy Queen) any more isn't any reason not to stop in and see Dawn. She still has the salon open and still does a wonderful job on your fingers and toes as well as on your hair!

Have you noticed, next to our Papa Joey's on the Square, a sign that says "The Way?" It is a meditation/reading/resting center, hosted by a lovely lady named Alice. There is a stone fountain in the middle of the room, with lots of chairs, lots of bookshelves (to buy and to just read there), and with a separate room for counseling. Please stop in - you will be glad you did.

Congratulations to Mary and B'Lee on the arrival of their new baby girl.

And last, but not least, a shout-out to Richard Culpepper! He can fix anything that's broken that has to do with air conditioning, appliances, heaters, and who knows what else!
