Keep Blanco Beautiful (KBB) and the Blanco Chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) are excited to announce the proclamation of a CIGARETTE LITTER PREVENTION PROGRAM in Blanco, Texas. Representatives from both organizations were present at the City Council meeting this past Tuesday, October 14, 2008, to request the support of the citizens of Blanco to support the program.

FCCLA members will begin conducting environmental and physical scans around the courthouse square which was chosen by the KBB Board of Directors to be the pilot area.

FCCLA members are thrilled to have this opportunity to launch this national program in Blanco. Keep America Beautiful’s Cigarette Litter Prevention Program was developed after identifying cigarette litter (cigarettes, packaging, and lighting material) as the most littered items found in cleanups around the country. The Blanco program will support our community improvement efforts and give the business district in Blanco greater visibility.
