Toys for Tots Drive Continues
Wednesday, December 5, 2007 • Posted December 4, 2007

Toys for Tots volunteers will solicit local businesses for donations on December 10. Individuals wishing to make a donation may drop off cash or checks made out to "Toys for Tots" at Blanco National Bank. The donations will be used to buy toys for children from infants through 12 years of age.

On Thursday, December 13 , Security State Bank and Trust is hosting the annual Blanco Chamber of Commerce mixer from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The festivities are open to the public, and individuals are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to place under the Christmas tree.

On Saturday, December 15, at Blanco United Methodist Church, community members in need who live in the Blanco school district will be able to come and pick up toys from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Each person will fill out a form with the name and age of each child. Then a volunteer will help the parent choose two age- and gender-appropriate toys. Anyone who wishes to volunteer can begin as early as 8 a.m., when the previously-purchased and collected toys will be put out on tables.

Once again the residents of Blanco have the opportunity to display their generosity to those less fortunate and to get the best gift of all, the joy of sharing with others.
