On Thursday, November 29, Blanco Senior Citizens Center hosted 24 visitors from the San Marcos Senior Citizens Center. We shared lunch, arts and crafts activities, played bingo, and even had door prizes that the San Marcos group brought for us.

We also celebrated Elizabeth Sorrell’s 97th birthday a few days early. Our visitors enjoyed being at Gem of the Hills, and we hope to make a trip to visit the San Marcos center in the spring.

We have other activities coming up to celebrate the holiday season.

On Wednesday, December 12, we will have a Christmas Carol Sing-Along featuring Penny Conn, Alan Cooper, and Friends. We’ll begin about 10:00 am and sing till lunch time. All ages are welcome.

Every Thursday until Christmas we will have a fun selection of craft activities – Christmas and other holiday cards, tree decorations, swags, beading, paper cutting, and anything else that someone wants to create or demonstrate. Again, all ages are welcome to join us for craft activities.

The Blanco community is always welcome to join us for lunch any Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Just call at least a day before you’d like to visit for lunch so we can be sure to have plenty of food!

For more information about these or other activities for Seniors, please call Charlotte Dorsey at (830)833-5206 or Julianne Compere at (830)833-2713.
