Several local FFA members from the Blanco FFA Chapter recently took part in the annual Dripping Springs Ag Boosters Fall Classic Livestock Show. This year’s show was held in Johnson City at the Blanco County Show Barn. Overall, there were more than 500 animals at this year’s show.

In the market goat show, Alex Gustafson would take 1st place with her meat goat, while Will Byler, Lauren Winn, Lindsey Winn, and Maggie Reininger would also do well in their respective classes. In all, there were 180 goats in the show.

The lamb show would see three Blanco FFA members do well, with Trevor Hardin leading the way with a 3rd place Finewool. Others exhibiting lambs included Tyler Hardin and Maggie Dennis. Almost 120 sheep were shown.

The swine show saw over 140 head competing. Blanco Junior FFA members Paige Green and Cody Perez would each take home a Reserve Champion rosette with Paige in the Duroc division and Cody in the OPB class. Trevor Hardin would also do well with a 1st place Cross. Other local FFA members doing well included Tyler Hardin, Jonathan Campbell, Susannah Campbell, Malinda Campbell, Carlin Green, Lainie Parker, and Logan Parker.

Finally, almost 100 steers would compete in the TCCA sanctioned steer show with three Blanco FFA members doing very well. Advisors for the Blanco FFA and Blanco Junior FFA are Jason and Felice Marek.
