WMS Holds Meeting

November 1, 1968

The Woman’s Missionary Society of the First Baptist Church met Tuesday afternoon. The guest speaker was Mrs. Charles Culpepper now of San Antonio. She told of some experiences she and her husband, Rev. Charlie, had from their missionaries in China from 1923 to 1965.

The Society wishes to thank all their friends of Blanco, Canyon Lake, Cypress Cove and Johnson City for their presence in making the meeting such a success.

It’s a Granddaughter!

November 2, 1988

Bill and Maxine Blackburn are happy to announce the birth of their newest little granddaughter.

Bonnie Lucille Blackburn was born at the Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio at 5:20 p.m. October 24, 1988.

Her mommie is Janet and her daddy is Leslie and they live at Canyon Lake.

Bonnie weighed 7 pounds and 11.6 ounces and she was 19 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Carolyn and Ed Fetherlin of Miami, Florida.

Dean Myane BYH speaker on November 14

November 3, 1978

Blanco – Dean Myane, local attorney, will present a program on “Wills for a Secure Future” as a monthly meeting for Blanco Youth Homemakers. She will discuss wills; procedure, importance, and legal aspects. There will be a question and answer session.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, November 1, 7:30 p.m. in the Blanco High School Homemaking Cottage.

Home Demonstration Clubs to Combine for November Meeting

November 1, 1968

There will be a combined meeting of three Home Demonstration Clubs – Chimney Valley, Live Oak, and Ranch HiWay – on Tuesday, November 5at 2:00 p.m. in the Grange Hall.

Due to rather crowded schedule in November, Mrs. Nan Ell Moore, County HD Agent, will be able to give her program and demonstration in reduced time.

Klein, Smith wedding planned December 3

November 2, 1988

Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Klein of San Antonio announce the engagement of their daughter, Patricia Ann, to Richard Lee Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Giambernardi of Blanco.

The bride-elect is a 1986 graduate of Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio and is currently employed at First City Bank.

Her fiancé is a 1984 graduate of Blanco High School and is currently employed at Computerland in Austin.

The couple plans a December 3rd wedding at Trinity United Methodist Church in San Antonio. The will reside in Austin following the wedding.

Lutherans to SA

November 3, 1978

San Antonio – Members of Blanco’s Trinity Lutheran Church who will take part in the San Antonio Lutheran Charity Coronation Association’s 20th Anniversary court in Municipal Auditorium November 4 include: Duchesses Susan Triesch, Penny Nolte, Holly Waxler and Janice Flurath.

Dukes – James Glen Nolte, Weldon Engle, Rick Weirich and Zane Smith.

4-H Club Meets

November 1, 1968

The Blanco 4-H Club met on October 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the school cafetorium with President Zoe Goehman presiding 37 members and guests, Mmes, Charlie Price, Bud Murrah, Roy Bruemmer, and leader, Mrs. M.L. Moore.

Members not having brought in their money for calendars are urged to do so.

Mrs. Nan Ell Moore, County HD Agent, gave the program on “Home Safety.”
