The Varsity Lady Panthers traveled to Llano for three days to play a total of five game.
The Panthers faced Lampasas in the first round. The game started slow on both sides of the court with a score of 1-6. The game picked up some in the second period as the teams retired to the locker rooms. The Panthers trailed by 12 points.
Lampasas came back out strong and took the victory with a final score 57-24.
High scorer was Lacee Hunter with a total of six points followed by Sarah Kocurek and Alyssa Warner who each had five points. Alisa Guler and Claire Klepac each finished with three points and Sarah Isenberg had two points.
The second game for the Panthers was against St. Andrews. This game was a better played game for the Panthers. The Panthers came out strong and finished strong as they took an early lead. By halftime the crowd began to worry as St. Andrew pulled up to within nine points.
Coming back from halftime, the Panthers got back into the rhythm as they sank 20 points.
The final score was Blanco 60, St. Andrews 41.
High scorer was Guler with a total of 18 points followed by Kocurek with 12 points. Madeline Walker finished with five points, Hunter had four, Carla Martinez and Warner with three each and Crystal Thomas had two.
The Panthers then returned to Llano on Friday to face a re-match with Harper for a 10:30 game.
The Panthers once again got a slow start, allowing Harper to take the lead in the first period buy only by two points.
By half time, the Panthers found themselves trailing by 12 points.
As the teams came back out from half time the Panthers stepped it up and finished the game with a final score Blanco 43, Harper 49.
The Panthers then had to return to play against the hosting team, the LLano Yellowjackets at 7:30 that evening.
High scorer was Guler with 20 points, followed by Kocurek who had 10. Isenberg had seven, Thomas finished with three points, Warner had two points and Hunter finished with one point.
The Panthers held the score close in the first period against the tough 3A Yellowjackets by halftime they found themselves trailing by a total of 12 points.
The Panthers took a loss to Llano with a final score 70-41.
Kocurek finished with 21 points followed by Isenberg who had 10 points. Thomas and Guler both finished with four points followed by Hunter who as two points.
The Panthers returned on Saturday to play Keene, for third place and a trophy.
The game started out tight as both teams played tough defense but the Panthers pulled out into a lead by half time with a score 23-18.
By the third period, the game was tied again by the Panthers managed to pull out a win with a final score of 44-42. They received the third place trophy.
Guler finished with 14 points followed by Kocurek who had 13 points. Walker had seven points, Thomas and Isenberg each had four points and Martinez had two points.
The team will travel to Center Point on Friday to face the Pirates.
