Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter in response to the events of Saturday November 8, 2008 in downtown Blanco, Texas. It was a a site that touched me deeply. I wish to say "Thank You" to each and every veteran. I wish for each and every one of you to know the deep sense of pride and gratitude I feel for you. Each of you should walk with your chest swelled with pride and your head held high with honor. I, of course, have a sense of personal pride, as my husband Tom Avants Spc5, E5 United States Army Vietnam 1967-1969 was on one of those floats. I say to him.. I am honored to be your wife and I thank you for your service. I would also like to say a very special "Thank You" to Sherry Hawkins and her fellow members for the spectacular event you created. Thank You to all the participants and businesses involved. Thank You to all who attended and honored our veterans. Next I would like to say Thank You to all who attended the American Legion Spaghetti Lunch. Last but definitely not least THANK YOU to my fellow American Legionnaires Post 352 and to my fellow American Legion Auxiliary members Unit 352 , Your hard work and dedication made our Annual Spaghetti Dinner/Lunch an overwhelming success. With great pride and gratitude.
