Annie Flores Carvajal

Annie Flores Carvajal of Blanco, TX, passed away on November 17, 2008. She was born on May 10, 1928 in San Antonio, TX. Annie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Alfred Z. Carvajal, daughters Anita Carvajal of Blanco, TX, Monica Dovalina and husband Albert Dovalina of San Antonio, sons Jerry Carvajal and wife Kay of Houston, Tony Carvajal and wife Rachel of Spring Branch and Paul Carvajal of Spring Branch. Annie has 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 more great-grandchildren expected summer 2009. She was preceded in death by her son Oscar Carvajal of Spring Branch.

Annie’s ancestral grandfather Juan N. Flores, fought in the Texas revolution, and was a brother-in-law to Colonel Juan N. Seguin. Additionally, Juan Francisco Flores de Abrego y Valdez, who was listed as a patriot of the American Revolution 1776-1783, was an ancestral grandfather. Annie was a descendant of Domingo Curbelo a member of the original 16 Canary Island families who settled San Antonio in 1731.

A rosary will be held Wednesday, November 19 at 7:30 pm at Crofts Funeral Home, Blanco, TX. Mass will be held Thursday November 20 at 10:00 am at St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church, Blanco, TX.
